英語中常見的虛詞詞類除了介詞，還有連詞，今天說一說常見連詞的用法。
BECAUSE
用于介紹起因或原因，語氣最強(qiáng)烈，表示直接原因，接在主句后面。
I didn’t answer your messages because I was out of the country.
我沒有回復(fù)你的留言，因?yàn)槲页鰢恕?/p>
Because my lower back kept hurting, I decided to finally go see a chiropractor.
因?yàn)槲业暮蟊程郏易罱K決定去看脊椎按摩師。
SINCE
可以用來介紹起因或原因，表示對方已知的無需加以說明的原因或事實(shí)，語氣比because弱。
I decided to bake cupcakes, since it was Marjorie’s birthday.
因?yàn)槟鞘邱R喬里的生日，所以我決定烤蛋糕。
Since you’re always late, I’m going to start showing up late too.
因?yàn)槟憧偸沁t到，我也打算晚到了。
也可以用來表示某事從某個(gè)時(shí)間點(diǎn)開始是真的。
Ever since I was young, I’ve always wanted to become a scientist.

UNTIL
可以用來指某事直到某一刻才發(fā)生。
I usually sit around in my office until my boss gives me work to do.

WHEN
可以用來表示兩個(gè)事件同時(shí)發(fā)生。
When it started to snow, everyone started posting statuses on Facebook.
當(dāng)開始下雪時(shí)，每個(gè)人都開始在臉書發(fā)布狀態(tài)。
When the clock struck three, all the students immediately evacuated the classroom.
當(dāng)鐘敲到三點(diǎn)時(shí)，所有的學(xué)生立即撤離教室。
WHILE
可以用來表示兩件事同時(shí)發(fā)生。相比于連詞“when”，它更強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作的持續(xù)性。
I often get distracted while trying to study.
我經(jīng)常在學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)分心。
It’s hard trying to take classes while also working two jobs.
做兩份工作還要同時(shí)上課學(xué)習(xí)是很困難的。
也可以用來表示轉(zhuǎn)折，表示“盡管”。

AS

AS IF
可以用來表示“假設(shè)某事是真的”之類的情況，意為“仿佛，好像”。
He treats me as if I were his sister, not his girlfriend.

You tend to brush most things off as if they’re no big deal.
你對大部分事情都避開不談，好像它們沒什么大不了的。
LIKE
可以作為“just as”的替換詞，可以用“just”這個(gè)詞來強(qiáng)調(diào);
I did the dishes like you told me to.
我按照你告訴我的那樣洗碗。
The dish that was served looked just like it did in the menu.
上的菜看起來和菜單上的菜一樣。
也被用作“as if”的替換詞。
Don’t treat me like I’m an idiot.

AS SOON AS
可以用來表示一件事和另一件事同時(shí)發(fā)生，或者直接發(fā)生在另一事件之后。它類似于關(guān)聯(lián)詞“no sooner...than”和“hardly...when”。
As soon as you’re all packed, we’ll put everything in the car and go.
你們一收拾好東西，我們就把它們放到車?yán)锶缓蟪霭l(fā)。
Can you let me know as soon as you’re done with the assignment?
